This survey provides data on the prevalence of violence in today's workplace. The steps companies take to prepare for and prevent violence and how they deal with the aftermath of workplace violence are also discussed. The survey results in this report are compared, when possible, to previous workplace violence surveys conducted by SHRM in 1999 and 1996. The impact of September 11 and increased threats of terrorism on the workplace are also explored.
