How do I search for books?

You can search the SHRMStore by author, book title, keyword, or ISBN. The search engine is available on the left side of each SHRMStore page.

To search by Author: Enter the LAST name only of the author. Be sure to select Author from the search pull down menu before clicking the Find button. You will not be shown matches if you enter first and last names, or first names only. If the book has more than one author, search for one last name only. If you enter two or more last names, you will not be shown any matches.

To search by Title: Select Title from the pull down menu, enter the title you are searching for, and click the Find button. The title search engine looks for a matching character string. For example, if you are looking for a book called 21st Century Manager and you enter "21st century" into the search engine, it will find 21st Century Manager. However, if you enter "21st manager," it will not find any matches.

To search by Keyword: Select Keyword from the pull down menu, enter the word(s) you are searching for, and click the Find button. When searching by keyword, the search engine will match character strings in the title and description fields. This search engine does NOT recognize Boolean search terms such as "and", "or” and “+”. For example, if you search for "employee and benefits," you will not find any matches. You should instead do a search for the string "employee benefits" or just one word (either "employee" or “benefits”).
